day 9: went to the zoo. had a wonderful time. but i think zoos are kind of sad. for some animals like seals and dolphins and some primates (all the kinds of animals that benefit from and enjoy human relationships) and old animals (that would otherwise be suffering or dead in their natural habitat) it is a really neat thing to see. but for all the fish or the birds or the two year old tiger cubs i can't help but think that this is poor stewardship of God's creation and even though animals are interesting in their cages, they're only beautiful when they are where He put them. just a thought.
